October 2026
Quicker first replies
Improved
- With a Rocky Cloud voice, the first answer after a few quiet minutes starts speaking sooner. Rocky now readies its voice when you press the shortcut instead of when the answer is ready.
Better follow-ups and more control
New
- Turn dictation and clipboard history on or off in Settings. Your saved preferences stay available when you turn them back on.
- Clear dictation, Command Mode, and clipboard history shortcuts completely when you do not want a keyboard shortcut assigned.
Improved
- Follow-ups such as “What about CNN?”, “Sure, go ahead”, and “Can you point it out?” retain the context of the conversation.
- Quick screen answers skip the extra “let me check your screen” announcement. Deeper screen work still lets you know it is starting.
- Browser and background research handle consent dialogs, slow pages, and news sources more reliably.
- The locked Your ChatGPT option explains that a license is needed and opens the license settings. Credit messages also explain the option to purchase a license and use your ChatGPT subscription.
Fixed
- Fixed a planning error that could stop file organization before it began. Permission failures now explain how to grant the required access.
- A delayed task refresh no longer brings back an approval prompt that was already resolved in chat.
September 2026
Spotify, screen questions, and research you hear
Improved
- “Look at my screen” and similar requests now answer from what you're looking at right away, instead of opening Rocky's own browser to find the page.
Fixed
- Rocky no longer says it couldn't play something from Spotify when the music is already playing.
- “Stop” now pauses Spotify the first time.
- A finished research result now plays when you let go of dictation, instead of waiting for your next request.
- Music requests transcribed with a comma, like “Play, good vibes on Spotify”, now play instead of asking what to play.
A new voice and breaks that stay in view
New
- Ced, modeled on Rocky's original voice, is the new default Rocky Cloud voice. If you picked a different voice, Rocky keeps it.
Improved
- A break reminder now stays open in the notch with the break's instruction and a live countdown, so it is hard to miss. Snooze or end it right there, or click to tuck it away while the break keeps running.
- Breaks start counting down as soon as they appear, so you no longer need to click Start before looking away.
Faster Rocky Cloud voice and a Spotify DJ
New
- Rocky Cloud answers spoken requests faster. Skylar is the new default voice, and you can pick other Cartesia and Inworld voices in Settings → Voice.
- Rocky can play music you describe and public playlists on Spotify.
Improved
- Walkthroughs start faster and point more accurately, including at menu bar icons on macOS 27.
- The Cartesia voice is a little quieter and the listening sound a little louder.
Fixed
- Walkthroughs no longer silently stop with Your ChatGPT.
Faster spoken replies
Improved
- Rocky starts speaking sooner after you let go of push-to-talk. Replies stream in small pieces, audio output is ready before the answer arrives, and a reply that needs no other action starts playing before the turn finishes.
- With Your ChatGPT, spoken requests reach the model sooner, and the first question of a new conversation no longer waits for a fresh session to start.
- Realtime keeps a connection open ahead of time, so your first question after launch, after switching to Realtime, or after a session ends starts answering without a connection delay.
- Long conversations no longer pause a new request while an older part of the conversation is summarized.
Fixed
- The last word you say before letting go of push-to-talk is no longer cut off.
- Pressing push-to-talk right after launch no longer asks you to download a speech model that is already installed.
- The notch no longer freezes Rocky briefly when it resizes during a voice request.
Rocky, within easy reach
New
- Control Rocky directly from quick settings in the notch and Dynamic Island, with shortcuts, voice mode, chats, settings, and a quit button.
- Choose whether to show the menu bar icon, the notch or Dynamic Island, or both. At least one stays available so you can always reach Rocky.
- Drag glances into your preferred order in Settings, independently of which glances are enabled. Horizontal mouse scrolling works alongside trackpad swipes.
- Optionally lower other audio while using push-to-talk or dictation. Audio fades down quickly and returns when listening ends, while respecting manual volume changes.
- Enable gentle eye and movement break reminders.
- Check for updates in Settings. A small Update button appears in the expanded notch, Dynamic Island, and menu bar view after an update is confirmed; Sparkle handles installation.
Improved
- Updated GPT-6 model profiles and more grounded visual follow-ups with fewer repeated acknowledgements.
- Clearer quick-setting tooltips, consistent action icons, and a unified voice-mode switch.
Fixed
- Glances slide together as complete pages, and eye and movement break switches respond reliably.
- Fixed excess scrolling in General settings and unwanted menu bar UI appearing at launch.
- Changing menu bar clock text no longer makes screen guidance incorrectly report that the screen changed.
Conversations worth coming back to
New
- Keep ongoing conversations with Rocky and saved agents. Return to past chats, search your history, and rename or archive conversations.
- Create agents with their own instructions, preferred models, and customizable avatars. Each agent keeps its conversations together.
- Attach documents and images, choose a model for each chat, and inspect context usage. Conversation summaries and agent-specific memories help preserve context as you keep talking.
- Completed tasks and reports appear in the conversation that started them, with an inline report reader, copy controls, and optional read-aloud.
- A dedicated Clipboard settings page lets you keep history for a chosen number of days or forever, set a storage limit, or combine both limits.
Improved
- Chat replies appear as they arrive, with smoother navigation, clearer activity indicators, and more reliable dictation into the composer.
- Clipboard history previews appear immediately on a single click; double-click to paste. Command–Down jumps to the bottom, and Shift–Up or Shift–Down moves by a visible page.
- Shortcut settings have consistent control alignment and clearer spacing.
A smoother trip to the App Store
Fixed
- Fixed invisible gesture overlays interfering with the App Store Install button and purchase dialogs.
- Gesture overlays now appear only where a trail or highlight is visible, and disappear when cleared. Applies across Rocky Cloud, Realtime, and Your ChatGPT.
Your clipboard, on the right desktop
Fixed
- Clipboard history opens on the Space you are using, including alongside full-screen apps and in Stage Manager.
- The clipboard shortcut brings the palette back to you when it is on another Space, instead of dismissing an invisible window.
A little polish for your dictation
New
- Added optional Apple Intelligence Smart Polish for dictation on supported Macs, including spoken self-corrections.
- Hold Option in settings to reveal the advanced Apple controls. Smart Polish is off by default and works across all voice routes.
- If the model or language is unavailable, or polishing takes too long, Rocky keeps your original transcription.
Make Command your voice shortcut
New
- Use Left Command or Right Command for voice shortcuts, with immediate activation or an 80 ms hold.
- Early microphone buffering preserves the beginning of your speech. Side-specific key handling keeps a held shortcut active reliably.
Clearer license ownership
Improved
- Introduced the $6.99 one-time beta license offer, plus applicable tax.
- License owners see an Active license card in Account settings instead of trial messaging, with Rocky Cloud balances and top-up guidance still available.
Meet the Dynamic Island
New
- Choose Notch or Dynamic Island in Settings → General → Display. The island shows listening, thinking, and speaking states, and expands for timers and background activity.
- Drag the island anywhere on your screen. Hover to open it, swipe between glances, or pin the pane to keep it open while moving.
- Show Rocky on screen controls both the notch and the island. Both start visible after upgrading, then remember your choice. The old corner particles are retired.
Your microphone. Everything in its place.
New
- Choose a microphone in Settings → Voice, test it with a live level meter, and adjust its input volume where supported. Your choice applies to every voice mode and dictation, with system-default fallback when unplugged.
- Account, Privacy, and Browser settings are grouped around everyday actions, with clearer balances, protected apps, profiles, and browser imports.
- Task Center reports open inline, failures have clearer next steps, and Archive all finished tasks clears completed work in one action.
- Rocky windows and Rocky Browser come to your active Space. The menu bar no longer flashes a listening-model warm-up card on launch.
A Library that is easier to read
Improved
- Library tiles adapt to their content, with colored type icons, removable filter chips, and collapsible Sources and Tags lists.
- Rocky can see its own Settings, Task Center, Library, and other regular windows when you ask about them. Overlays remain excluded from captures.
- Voice settings present one on-device model for listening and one for speaking, with advanced engine choices available while holding Option.
- Settings panes open at the top, and the clipboard shortcut has its own Reset control.
Stay in reach while Rocky works
Improved
- Hover to open the notch even while Rocky is listening, working, or speaking.
- New timers and delegated activity select their glance page when the surface is open, so newly started work is easy to find.
Arrange your workspace by voice
New
- Ask Rocky to position windows, exchange their places, and save or restore window layouts.
- Restoring a layout can open the apps it needs. Arranged windows are revealed, and deferred browser moves finish when the browser is ready.
- Added notch pages and configurable Codex glances for checking activity at a glance.
Better reports, quicker access
Improved
- Research reports have their own Library type. Preview any item in place, recognize sidebar filters by their icons, and keep your selection as the details pane opens.
- Rocky launches its overlays faster, and the shared interface shows a centered loading indicator while opening.
- Notch music controls stay above activity and remain available after pausing.
- Browser tasks save complete screenshots before confirming success. Improved clipboard privacy and long previews, and made lassoed Realtime requests more reliable.
Research that goes beyond the snippet
New
- Web research can read public pages and remember the sources it consulted, instead of relying only on search snippets.
- The Library gains a sidebar, trash, saved links and text, voice recall, and tools to check or rebuild its search index.
- Push-to-talk pauses a Realtime reply instead of ending it. Spoken confirmations use the session voice, and music requests are handled more reliably.
- Improved browser task observation, purchase approval checks, preview tabs, and spoken cancellation feedback.
Know what is left on your plan
New
- Account settings show remaining usage for each limit window on your connected ChatGPT plan.
- Live usage bars include reset countdowns and a clear Limit reached state.
Follow up naturally. Keep time at a glance.
New
- Ask for labeled timers and see them in the notch.
- Visual follow-ups such as “highlight it” carry the previous exchange forward. Answers to clarifying questions continue the same request.
- Pointing requests wait for the screen context they need, and Rocky Cloud explains a blocked guide promptly instead of retrying it repeatedly.
Keep the page, and where it came from
New
- Save whole-page browser screenshots and retain the source URL with Library items.
- Browser findings include cited reports with source links, and background tasks describe their deliverables more clearly.
- Guided walkthroughs point at controls measured by macOS. Rocky can answer questions about itself and open its own windows.
- Reduced repeated instructions sent during Realtime requests.
August 2026

- Fixed the first-step pointer disappearing when changing screen content prevented Rocky from locating its target.
- Unified the thinking animation so competing indicators no longer appear together.
Take your Library with you
New
- Added portable, searchable Library backups and a compact backup control.

- Rocky installs its local speaking voice after onboarding and sign-in. You can cancel or remove it, and Rocky remembers that choice.
Fewer false alarms from speech recognition
Fixed
- Healthy Macs are no longer incorrectly told that their Apple speech model is missing after a temporary recognition error.
- Push-to-talk can silently restart recognition once when needed.
- On macOS 26, missing Apple speech assets can download in-app, with spoken progress at the start and finish.
More reliable sign-in and dictation
Fixed
- Connecting your ChatGPT account can recover from a stuck Keychain credential, with clearer guidance when access fails.
- Rocky explains how to fix a missing Apple speech model instead of silently stopping.

- Rocky tells you when a macOS permission dialog needs your attention.
- Research briefs are easier to read, with the question and sources clearly visible.
- Fixed requests incorrectly asking you to sign in after your Mac wakes from sleep.
A steadier start
Fixed
- Fixed an intermittent launch crash on macOS 26.
- Held screen captures and gesture trails survive unrelated window and display notifications.
